Sankari Krishnan

Sankari Krishnan, a Carnatic musician who has learnt the tradition from legendary Padmabhushan Lalgudi Shri G.Jayaraman.

Sankari Krishnan, Indian MusicianSankari Krishnan is M.A. M.Phil degree holder in music. This gold medallist from the University of Madras underwent her introductory training in Carnatic music under Shri K.S.Subramanian of Trichy.

Early Life of Sankari Krishnan
Sankari Krishnan considers herself to be blessed as she got the honour of being trained under the greatest maestros of all times, Padmabhushan Lalgudi Shri G. Jayaraman. Under his guidance the repertoire of Sankari Krishnan has been sharpened. Since the year 1993, as recognition to her talent, the All India Radio absorbed her as an "A" Grade artiste. Being their artist, later on in the year 2000, she has been selected to perform at the highly esteemed "Akashvani Sangeeth Sammelan". She has also exhibited her performances in the National Programmes in Doordharshan as well as in the private channels like SUN TV, RAJ TV, MAKKAL TV etc.

Life in Music for Sankari Krishnan
In Chennai and throughout India, Sankari Krishnan has performed in all most all the high status organizations and Sabhas. Outside India she has also performed at the countries like United States of America, Singapore and Malaysia. Apart from this execution, Sankari Krishnan has also bagged the atypical honour of exhibiting special "Veena & Voice" concerts alongside eminent Veena maestro, Dr. Karaikudi S.Subramanian, Founder Director, Brhaddhvani, "The Research & Training Centre for the Music`s of the World".

Awards and Reorganization for Sankari Krishnan
Acknowledging her talent Sankari Krishnan has been conferred many prestigious awards and titles. The noteworthy amongst them was the `interactive performances with prominent and popular jazz musicians of international repute from the United States of America and Germany`. Sankari Krishnan apart from regular concerts, has also given many thematic presentations like "Thirupavai", "Divyanama Keertanas", "Divya Prabandham" etc. on the eve of the 25th Anniversary Celebrations of Doordarshan, Chennai Kendra, she has been selected to perform alongside the great maestro, Dr.M.Balamurali Krishna.

Sankari Krishnan has released many albums to her credit like Yadhukula kamboji under Rajalakshmi Audio; Sukhanandham under Rajalakshmi Audio; Tamil songs under Gitaa Cassettes; Laya Arohanam under Kalavardhini Cassettes; Abirami Andaadi under Gitaa Cassettes; Kandar Shasti Kavacham & Tiruppugazh under Gitaa Cassettes. Sankari Krishnan has also established herself as a teacher or Guru. She has served over four years experience as Lecturer in Music at Mother Teresa Women`s University. Currently she is working as a Senior Faculty at Brhaddhvani, in which she has absorbed the scientific and holistic teaching methods that is evolved by Dr. Karaikudi S. Subramanian and is creatively imparting music education.
