Samayasangili is located in Namakkal district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a village that comprises five sub villages namely, Thottipalayam Pudur, Sengutaipalayam, Thottipalayam Palaiyur, Samayasangilli and Seerampalayam. The village is on the banks of Kaveri River and forms the border for Namakkal district. The village has the Bhavani Kattalai Barrage I Hydel Power Project that generates electricity under TNEB.
Economy of Samayasangili
Agriculture is the main source of income for the villagers of Samayasangili. Cultivation of crops usually takes place in the monsoon months. The farmers also procure water from wells and tanks. Majority of the cultivated area are used for food crops. Paddy, sugarcane, tapioca, turmeric and cholam are some of the important crops cultivated in the village. The chief pulses grown are green gram, red gram, black gram and horse gram.
