Riverside and Orchard Palace in Gondal was built in the 1800s and served as the house of Yuvraj of Gondal. Presently it is a Heritage Hotel in Gujarat.

Riverside and Orchard Palace, GujaratRiverside and Orchard Palace is situated in Gondal in Gujarat. Gondal is a city state 35 km away from Rajkot. It was earlier ruled by a family of car enthusiasts whose royal passion resulted in a huge collection of automobiles which are now part of a museum located in the premises of the palace. Such was the royal passion that Gondal earlier had the best planned and well designed road system in pre-independent Gujarat.

The Riverside and Orchard Palace provides some visually exciting and living spaces. The palace was commissioned in 1875 by Bhagwatsinghji and is now a Heritage Hotel. The Riverside Palace was built in the 1800s which served as the residence of the Yuvraj of Gondal princely state. The Riverside Palace now a heritage hotel is owned and run by his descendants. The palace is intricately designed with huge high-ceilinged rooms. It is decorate with period furniture, marvelously appointed sitting arrangements, and a view of the river from the rooftop. The Orchard Palace in the Huzoor Palace estate of the Maharaja of Gondal was the guest annex of the main palace. It has been converted into a heritage hotel owned and managed by the family. Both the palaces have antique-furnished interiors. The palace grounds form a private forest reserve with frolicking deer and a variety of birds that adds to the tranquil beauty of the place.

The palace has been declared to be a Heritage Hotel in Gujarat. The huge iron gate of the palace is ever welcoming to its guests. The riverside palace has 11 luxurious rooms that are well furnished with all the modern amenities as well as antique furniture. Thus the rooms replicate the blend of royalty with contemporary facilities. The restaurant of Riverside And Orchard Palace serves lip smacking Gujarati dishes. The Heritage Palace also takes care of the recreations of the guests staying in the hotel thus providing the facility of the swimming pool. The guests of the hotel can also enjoy a boat ride in the nearby lake. The Veri Lake is also an ideal spot for bird watching. The Palace thus serves as a popular tourist spot. The calm and serene ambiance of the riverside hotel takes one to the lap of nature.
