Raman Reti is a sub urban area in Mathura District of Uttar Pradesh. The place has some mythical significance related to the childhood of Lord Krishna and Balarama.
Location of Raman Reti
Raman Reti is located on the outskirts of Mahavan, on the way to Gokul. This is the place where Lord Krishna and Balarama played with their friends and turned somersaults on the sands, hence the name Reti which means sand. The tourists can see a lot of white sand here, especially within the temple premises.
Temple in Raman Reti
Raman Reti has a huge courtyard; on the right are three temples. The first one was a small temple of Lord Shiva. The next one was a small temple of the Nava Graha. The third one was the main temple which is snow-white in colour. The main temple had two pairs of Radha-Krishna idols. The big pair was on the left and the small pair on the right. On the right were idols of two saints Chandraji Maharaj and Lord Krishna. On the left were two more idols of Sri Harinamdas and Sri Brajananda. To the extreme left was an idol of Lord Hanuman. The entire temple was made of white marble. The walls around the Temple had huge paintings, Raman Red depicting the pastimes of Lord Krishna, which can be seen while performing the temple parikrama. The temple had a beautiful inner courtyard.

The white sand here is considered very holy since Krishna and Balarama played on them.
Sanctuary of Raman Reti
There is a sanctuary is the Raman Reti compound. The sanctuary is filled with sand and is reminiscent of the past when Lord Krishna would frequent here along with His brother Balarama and cowherd friends to indulge in traditional games. It is also the place where He would meet His love, Radha before leaving for Vrindavan together. In the precincts, there is a beautiful Radha Krishna Temple. The environment is very much pleasant and it is similar to Govind Devji temple of Jaipur but it is much smaller in size and grandeur. In the Raman Reti Wildlife Sanctuary, there are deer, elephants, ducks, turkeys and many birds.
