This area is situated at the confluence of two major rivers of Damodar River and Bhairavi River. This place connects the districts of Chas and Ramgarh and is 23 kms from Ramgarh, 65 kms from Hazaribagh, 78kms from Ranchi and 60 kms from Bokaro Steel city. With two major rivers and waterfalls this area provides an excellent view for its tourists.

Rajrappa is one of the major sights for tourism in Jharkhand. It includes a number of places that attract a large number of tourists. Rajrappa has been popularly known for the temple of Chinnamasta also known as Chinnamastika, which is dedicated to Goddess Parvati. Chinnamasta is a temple, which was built on the belief that some part of Goddess Parvati fell on this pious land. The main attraction of this temple is the headless deity of goddess Chinamasta that stand on the body of Kamdeo and Rati in a lotus bed. This temple is famous for its trantric style of architecture and tantric way of worship. It also includes the deities of Sun God and Lord Shiva along with ten more Hindu gods and goddesses. A major ritual in this temple is animal sacrifice that is mostly conducted on Tuesdays and Saturdays and during Kali Puja. With at least 2500 Æ’?" 3000 devotees visiting Chinnamasta temple is one of the most popular and scared temple of the area.

Rajrappa besides being a popular pilgrimage centre of India is also known for its scenic beauty. The area is surrounded with two major rivers, which join to form the major waterfall of the area. This provides a sight for tourism, which attracts a number of visitors from all parts of India. The geography of this area is equally significant. It includes the Damodar valley that is distinctive in features. It is one of the best polycyclic valleys with topographical discordance. The Rajrappa waterfalls create two kinds of valleys. While Damodar River creates flat and broad shaped valleys that developed at a very initial stage, River Bhravi that merges with River Damodar creates a kind of hanging valley which is unique in this river bed. Both the rivers create a number of gorges, which defines the scenic beauty of the area.

Alongwith this Rajrappa is also known for the number of Coal fields which are included under the Rajrappa project of Central Coalfields limited. As such it supports a major town ship with a number of colonies, shopping centres and recreational centres which are equally for those who visit the area for tourism.
