Raghunatha dasa Goswami

Raghunatha dasa Goswami was one of the disciples of Chaitanya. Among the six Goswamis he was known for simplicity and his renunciation qualities.

Raghunatha dasa GoswamiRaghunatha Dasa Goswami was born as the son of a wealthy landowner Govardhana Dasa from Saptagram. Raghunatha dasa was interested in religious pursuits. Raghunatha escaped from his home and made a journey to Puri where he met his guru, Chaitanya.

He spends more than twenty-two hours out of every twenty-four chanting the Hare Krishna mantra. Raghunatha Dasa Goswami served Chaitanya for sixteen years. Thereafter he went to Vrindavan where he lived for several years at a sacred lake called Radha-kunda. His place of worship exists and is visited by many pilgrims even today.
