Priya Murle , Bharatnatyam DancerPriya Murle is an established Bharatanatyam dancer who skillfully divides her time between teaching and performing Bharatanatyam at the predominant Bharatanatyam institution of learning, Shree Bharatalaya. Currently she is also doing her research work. This multi-dimensional personality, Priya Murle started up learning dance from the very tender age of five at Shree Bharatalaya. Her first teacher was Padma Sri Dr. Sudharani Ragupathy. Padma Sri Vidvan Madurai N. Krishnan also teaches her lessons of Carnatic music and she also learnt Sanskrit as well as from Pandit Thangaswami Sharma. For past 10 years, Priya Murle has been involved with the institution, Shree Bharatalaya. At the institution, she is involved with the teachings and also does choreography. All over India as well as in Europe and America, she has given several performances.

Acknowledging her talent and contribution to the field of Dance, she was conferred numerous awards and merit certificates. Her award includes the prestigious title of "Yuva Kala Bharati" from Bharat Kalachar, and the Bharata Kala Bhushana from Shree Bharatalaya. The Department of Culture of the Government of India in recognition of her endowment instituted the Senior Scholarship for Dance to her. In the year 1994, she was also a visiting Professor of Dance at the Government of India Music College, Tamil Nadu. She is regarded as a stratified artiste of the Doordarshan Kendra, India.

Priya Murle with her deep commitment to music and dance has worked at Sruti. At Sruti she serves as the Executive in charge of the Research & Documentation Centre and the Publication & Audio-visual departments. Priya Murle in regard to academic matters has held a fantabulous record at both school and university levels.
