Pooja Gandhi, Indian ActressPooja Gandhi is an Indian actress who predominantly works in Kannada film industry. She has worked in a number of Kannada films including Manmatha, Krishna, Milana, Geleya, Dandupalya etc. She won Suvarna Film Award for Best Actress for the film Dandupalya. She has also done a few Tamil films, a Bengali film, a Malayalam film and a Hindi film.

Early Life of Pooja Gandhi
She was born on 7th October in Ganjimutt, Vandela, in a traditional Punjabi family to Pawan Gandhi and Jyothi Gandhi. Her father is a businessman and mother is a housewife. She received her education from Sophia Convent and Dewan Public School in Meerut. She has two younger sisters namely Radhika Gandhi and Suhani Gandhi. Radhika is working in Kannada films and Suhani is a tennis player.

Career of Pooja Gandhi
Pooja started her career with television serial. Her first serial was Zameen Se Aassman Tak directed by Aruna Irani. She made her debut in the silver screen with the Bengali film Tomake Salam in 2003. Since 2006, she started to focus on South Indian film industry. Her first South Indian film was Kokki in Tamil language. In the same year, she appeared in another Kannada film namely Mungaru Male. The film became a big hit in Karnataka, and she popularly came to be known as Mungaru Male Hudugi. In 2007, she worked in nine Kannada films including Manmatha, Krishna, Milana, Geleya, Hani Hani, Accident, Kaamannana Makkalu, Nee Tata Naa Birla and Taj Mahal.

In 2008, she worked in five Kannada films and one Tamil film. The names of the films are Kodagana Koli Nungitha, Budhivanta, Maharshi, Janumada Gelathi, Haage Summane and Thiruvannamalai (Tamil). She has since acted in several Kannada films in the following years including Nee Raani Naa Maharani, Vega, Thavarina Runa, Aptha, Nee Illadhe, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Paagal, Hosa Prema Purana, Jaihind, Kalyanamasthu, Dandupalya and many others. Her film Dandupalya garnered her several awards.

She has also appeared in one Hindi film titled I Am. An anthology film by Onir, I Am consists of four short films: "Omar", "Afia", "Abhimanyu", and "Megha". Her only Malayalam film is Maad Dad.

Achievements of Pooja Gandhi

•She won Suvarna Film Award for Best Actress for the film Dandupalya.
•She also won SIIMA Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for the film Dandupalya.
•She was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Kannada Actress for the film Taj Mahal.
