Phulwaria is a town in the district of Varanasi (a part of Varanasi division), located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is a census town and is amongst the oldest regions in the Varanasi division. Phulwaria town is further segregated in 7 different parts, which include Imliya Ghat, Sariya, Main Phulwaria and other.

Geography of Phulwaria
Phulwaria town is bordered by river Varuna on one side and by the 39GTC campus on the other side. The climate of Phulwaria is mostly similar to that of the other regions of Varanasi district. The average temperature during summer months is around 29 degree Celsius, where as the average temperature during winter almost drops to 18-19 degree Celsius. The average annual rainfall is around 40.37 inches.

Demography of Phulwaria
According to the 2001 census of India, the total population of Phulwaria is around 11,732. The males comprise 54% of the total population, while the females constitute 46% of the population of Phulwaria. The average literacy rate is around 66%, more than the national average of 59.5%. The literacy rate amongst females is 55% and the literacy rate of males is 75%. 13% of the total population of Phulwaria is below 6 years of age.

Administration of Phulwaria
Although the town of Phulwaria is situated in the cantonment area, but still it does not fall under the cantonment board. Instead, Phulwaria comes under and governed by the Gram Panchayat. The Panchayat Block is situated at Shivdaspur. Most of the basic utilities and facilities, like Railway Station, Sessions Court, Head Post Office, are located in the region.

Culture of Phulwaria
Amongst the languages spoken in Phulwaria town, Hindi and Bhojpuri (Bihari colloquial language) are mostly used by the local people.
