National Parks of SikkimThe state of Sikkim is located in the north eastern part of India. The geographical terrain of this state is characterized by mountains, glaciers, hot springs, rivers and streams. They not only beautify Sikkim but also draw a plethora of tourists here. National Park of Sikkim is no exception in this regard. This national park is described below.

Khangchendzonga National Park
Khangchendzonga National Park is situated in the North and West Sikkim districts at an elevation of about 1,829 meters (6,001 ft) to over 8,550 meters (28,050 ft). It is also known as Kanchenjunga National Park and Kanchenjunga Biosphere Reserve. It was established in the year 1977 and is spread over an area of about 849.5 square kilometers (328.0 sq mi). It was added in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites on July 17, 2016 and has the distinction of being the first "Mixed Heritage" site of India. This park is adorned with many glaciers like the Zemu glacier. Some of the occupants of the park are temperate broadleaf and mixed forests, alpine grasses and shrubs, medicinal plants and herb, animals (like musk deer, clouded leopard and Himalayan tahr) and birds (like blood pheasant, satyr tragopan and osprey).
