Mallik Rehan Tomb, Sira, KarnatakaThe tomb of Mallik Rehan is located in the town of Sira, which is a taluk in Tumkur district in the Sira province in the Indian state of Karnataka. The mausoleum was built over the grave of Mallik Rehan who was the governor of the province.

History of Mallik Rehan Tomb
From the period of 1638 to 1687, Sira was under the Bijapur kings and it was during this span that Mallik Rehan was appointed as the Governor of Sira. The local people revered him as a holy man and gave him the honorific title of Hazrath Mallik Rehan Rahmatullah Alai. The province of Sira has been under different empires, starting from the Mughal rule, and then coming under the Marathas before finally coming under the British administration.

Features of Mallik Rehan Tomb
Close to the Jama Masjid in Sira which was built in 1696, the Mallik Rehan Tomb is a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India. The tomb is a fine example of the Saracenic architecture built in the year 1651 and is a prominent edifice in the town. There is an arcade forming the outer periphery of the tomb which has a central hall. The parapet walls are ornamented with curvilinear sculptures that form its brackets. The mausoleum"s dome is made up of 3 domes with the corners crowned with domical finials.

Currently, the Mallik Rehan Tomb is a heritage site that attracts tourists.
