It is located at an elevation of 3000 feet. Mahimangad Fort is one of the chain forts built by Shivaji Maharaj to guard his eastern frontier. The middle portion of the entrance of this fort has a beautiful sculpture of elephant carved out on it. Inside the entrance, there is a Lord Hanuman"s temple of Binhupara, in front of which steps and bastions are seen. After the bastions, there is a small lake with water. A trunk of the fort appears on the north side of the fort campus.

Visiting Information on Mahimangad Fort
This fort can be visited all around the year. It is located near to the Mahimgad village. Satara Railway Station and Karad Airport are the nearest to visit the fort. National Highway 16 and 65 connect Satara District to other parts of India.
