Mahaveer Prasad
Mahaveer Prasad was an Indian Politician. He was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 1974 to 1977. He endlessly attempted for the upliftment of the oppressed people.

Mahaveer Prasad was also the Union Cabinet Minister of Small Scale Industries and Agro and Rural Industries. He had campaigned for the 2004 Lok Sabha elections on the Indian National Congress ticket from Bansgaon. Until his death Prasad was a Member of Parliament for Bansgaon.

Early Life of Mahaveer Prasad
Mahaveer Prasad was born on 11th November 1939 in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. He started his public and political life with active participation in Panchyati Raj Institutions and infrastructural units of democracy. He also demonstrated his political and administrative skills in organization and administration of these institutes.

Political Career of Mahaveer Prasad
Mahaveer Prasad was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 1974 to 1977. He was elected to the 7th Lok Sabha in 1980 and to the 8th Lok Sabha in 1984. Hehas also served as the Union Deputy Minister of Railways from February 1988 to July 1989 and Minister of State for Mines and Steel in the Department of Mines from July 1989 to December 1989. Mahaveer Prasad in a ConferencePrasad served as Governor of Haryana from 14 June 1995 to 2000. He was also the Governor of Himachal Pradesh at the same time. He became Union Cabinet Minister of Small Scale Industries and Agro and Rural Industries on 22 May 2004

Mahaveer Prasad worked constantly for communal harmony and national integration. He was engaged in nurturing ancient Indian ideals and cultural heritage. He worked relentlessly to eradicate illiteracy from the society. Mahaveer Prasad also advocated for the control of population explosion by way of lectures, education organized in Haryana and the rest of the country.

Mahaveer Prasad died on 29th November, 2010, at the age of 71, in Rajender Nagar, Delhi after suffering from a long illness
