Kynrem Falls

Kynrem Falls is located in Meghalaya. It is one of the tallest waterfalls that always has a decent flow.

Kynrem Falls, MeghalayaKynrem Falls is one of the beautiful falls nestled in the Meghalaya state of India. Among all the waterfalls in India, it is the seventh largest. This is also one of the highest waterfalls of Meghalaya. The Kynrem Falls is a three tiered waterfall. It falls from a height of 305 metres.

Location of Kynrem Falls
It is located near Cherrapunji in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. It is around 12 kilometres from Cherrapunji. It is situated inside the Thangkharang Park. The fall is located 53km from Shillong to Sohra and takes almost 90 minutes to traverse the distance.

Beauty of Kynrem Falls
This wonderful waterfall of Meghalaya offers a spectacular sight especially when viewed from below with the water gushing down at full speed on to the rocks forming a mist. There are various view points from where this can be watched. However, the most preferred one is a lookout deck within the Thangkharang Park which is a peaceful little botanical garden. From here, one can also see the water flowing down under the bridge in all its splendour. This spot offers a long shot of the waterfall. The best time to enjoy Kynrem Falls is during the season of monsoon.

The ideal way to reach Thangkharang Park or the Kynrem is bus or cab services. One can book the tourist cab or bus service that is provided by the Meghalaya tourism department from Shillong.
