Kedar Ghat is located in the southern part of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The ghat, built by the Maharaja of Vijayanagar, was named after Lord Shiva; Shiva"s another name is Kedarnath. Kedar Ghat is especially popular among Bengali and South Indians. There is a temple near this ghat, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is constructed in Hindu architectural style. Kedar Ghat, one of the popular ghats of Varanasi, is located on the banks of River Ganges and visited by several pilgrims and saints throughout the year. Near the Kedar Ghat, there is a pond named Parvati Kund, which is believed to have high medicinal properties in it.
