Kattimedu is located in Thiruvarur District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a small village that is under the Kattimedu and Adirangam Panchayat. It is located at a distance of almost 5 kms from Thiruthuraipoondi.
Geography of Kattimedu
Kattimedu enjoys a favourable climate. During the winters the temperature varies from 20 to 25 C and during the summers it varies from 32 to 40 C. The coldest months are December and January while the hottest months are April and May.
The main source of income for the residents of the village is agriculture. The farmers of Kattimedu depend upon the north east monsoons for irrigation purpose. The Kaveri River is another source of water for them. The village has almost 15 ponds.
