Johar Valley is a valley located in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, along the Gori Ganga River. It is also known as "Milam Valley" or "Gori Ganga Valley". The valley used to be a major ancient Indo-Tibetan trade route. It is one of the top tourist attractions in Munsiari. Munsiari is a small market town which acts as a junction between the upper and lower Johar Valleys. It is also known as the Gateway of Johar region, and is surrounded by the folds of snow-clad mountains. The popularly known villages in this valley are Martoli and Milam.
Location of Johar Valley
Johar Valley is a mountainous region which falls in the belt of the Central Himalayas between the river valleys of Gori Ganga and Ram Ganga rivers. The valley is located on the outskirts of Nanda Devi Sanctuary and covers the resplendent glimpses of famous peaks such as the Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot.
