The fort was made out of Lakhauri bricks; but the entire structure has now been ruined, only the Burj of which is existed. Earlier, Jind Fort was used as the military cantonment of the state. It has bastions to provide strength to the fort to ensure security.

History of Jind Fort
Raja Gajpat Singh, a great-grandson of Phul, the founder of the Phulkian Misl, established his independent kingdom by seizing a large portion of the country, which also included the Jind portion, from the Afghan governor Zain Khan in 1763. Jind city was created following this incident, after which Ganpat Singh also built the Jind Fort.
