Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion is a heritage building located in Mysore city of Karnataka near Kukkarahalli Kere Lake. The mansion houses a grand museum of priceless artifacts. Jayalakshmi Vilas was built in the year 1905 during the period of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, for the princess Jayalakshmi Ammani, the eldest daughter of the Maharaja Chamaraja Wodeyar. Karnataka Government classifies this mansion as a heritage building.
Later, Jayalakshmi Vilas was acquired by the University of Mysore to establish a postgraduate centre in its campus known as "Manasagangotri". But the building was in a state of negligence for a very long time. Then, it was restored with funds from the Infosys Foundation. Renovation began in 2002, and got completed in 2006. It was inaugurated by the Governor of Karnataka on 16 January 2006.
Structure of Jayalakshmi Vilas
The mansion, spread over an area of 6 acres, is chiefly built out of brick and mortar, timber and iron. It has 125 rooms, 300 windows and 287 exquisitely carved doors. There are entrances on each side, which are different from each other.

Mysore Airport and Mysore Junction Railway Station are the nearest mediums of transport to reach the place. National Highway 16 is the medium of reaching this place by road.
