The Bollywood movie released on 14th April 2006 and was written and directed by Raj Kanwar. The film is inspired by a Hollywood movie "Notting Hill". The movie "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye" received positive to mixed reviews from the critics but succeeded at the box office.

Synopsis of Humko Deewana Kar Gaye
The Bollywood movie "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye" tells the love story of "Aditya" and "Jia".

"Aditya", played by Akshay Kumar is an automobile engineer in a car company. He is very passionate about his cars. Not only is he an engineer, but also a test driver for the company. A post like that can explain how well he could drive. He is engaged with "Sonia" played by Bipasha Basu. She is a fashion designer. But the two hardly look as if made for each other. As individuals, Aditya and Sonia were not on the same wavelength. For Sonia, her career comes first. She is a good looking woman with a cold heart. Though the marriage date is fixed, Aditya had to leave for Canada to learn about the technique of a new car model, to be launched in India. Sonia also had to leave for a fashion show at Paris.

He meets the family but cannot live with them as the company has given him an apartment close to the workshop. But he makes it a point to meet the family on every weekend. "Jia", played by Katrina Kaif is the daughter of a business tycoon Yashwardhan Birla, has come to Canada all alone to shop for her wedding with the business giant, "Karan Oberoi" played by Anil Kapoor. Although Jia has all the material comfort in life, but she has never experienced family love. Jia is a simple girl with simple needs.

Aditya and Jia manage to spend time with each other and as time passes, the friendship between them grows. Being an amazing driver, Aditya gets a chance from his company to participate in a car rally. And somehow he persuades Jia to participate with him, and wins it too. Aditya introduces Jia to his sister"s family in Canada. It is there Jia finds the familial love that she always longed for. With passing time, they fail to realize when they start falling in love with each other. But a misunderstanding with Aditya occurs for which they get parted and go their individual ways. Jia was extremely hurt and returns to India to marry Karan. Aditya also comes back to India to get married with Sonia and does not attempt to meet Jia ever again. But fate makes them meet for the last time and that too at Jia`s wedding.

Eventually Sonia gets an assignment with Karan Oberoi, and she and Aditya get invited to his wedding. Sonia is the designer of Jia`s wedding dress. The wedding takes place with great pomp and ceremony, it is then Aditya and Jia are introduced to each other. They meet, confess their love and agree never to meet again. But Karan catches them talking. While Aditya was leaving the wedding, he finds Jia in a car accident. Aditya manages to help Jia get out of the car. Karan changes his mind after realising Aditya"s love for Jia and tells Jia to marry Aditya, and the movie ends with both of them hugging.

The film is written and directed by Raj Kanwar while it is produced by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and Kishan Kumar. Music is given by Anu Malik along with a special track by Himesh Reshammiya. Cinematography is done by Vikas Sivaraman.
