Hadagarh Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the districts of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar in the East Indian state Odisha. It lies close to the Hadagarh reservoir of Salandi dam and at a distance of 20 kilometres from Bhadrak on NH-5.
Hadagarh Wildlife Sanctuary was established in the year 1978 and spans over an area of 191.06 square kilometres. Mixed deciduous forests mostly encompass the sanctuary and host a vast variety of pulsating wild animals. Common fauna that can be spotted here include Hyena, Pangolin, Langur, Jungle Cat, Fishing Cat, Royal Bengal Tiger, and many more. Several species of reptiles and exotic birds also dwell in the sanctuary. The dense Sal forest of the sanctuary is the home to numerous Wild Dogs, Leopards and Elephant.
The dam in the Hadagarh Wildlife Sanctuary serves as an excellent habitat for Muggar Crocodiles. Other interesting features of the sanctuary are formed by the Baula hill range located on the east and west of Salandi River, the valley encompassed by the reservoir including its catchment area. Hadagarh Wildlife Sanctuary`s conservation area has a great popularity among the tourists who can cherish the unscathed natural beauty of the place and spend an invigorating time in the enchanting wilderness. It also exhibits a unique magical tranquillity which makes the place further more inviting.
