It is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Gadag District. Along with the fort, there are several other historical places in the district which are Badami, Aihole, Pattadakal, Mahakuta, Banashankari, Sudi, Mahadeva Temple and the Rastrakuta monuments.

Gajendragad is also a pilgrimage destination due to the presence of Kalakaleshwara temple.
