Malda District
Malda district is a district in West Bengal, India. It lies 347 km north of Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. The mango, jute and silk are the most notable products of this district. The folk culture of gombhira is a feature of the district, being a unique way of representation of joy and sorrow of daily life of the common people, as well as the unique medium of presentation on national and international matters.
Murshidabad District
Murshidabad district is a district of West Bengal, in eastern India. Murshidabad District is situated on the left bank of the Ganga River. Murshidabad District is very fertile. Covering an area of 5,341 square kilometers and having a population 5.863 meters, it is a densely populated district and the ninth most populous in India. Baharampur town is the headquarters of Murshidabad district. Murshidabad District began its origin from the time of Sasanka. The city of Murshidabad is lying just east of the Bhagirathi River. From the early era to the medieval time, Murshidabad became an agricultural trade and silk-weaving centre. Originally called Makhsudabad, it was reputedly founded by the Mughal emperor Akbar in the 16th century. Aurangzeb appointed Kartalab Khan as Diwan of Bengal Subah in 1701AD. He shifted his office from Dacca to Maksudabad in 1702 AD. In 1703 AD, Aurangzeb honoured him with the title of Murshid Quli Khan and granted the permission to rename the town as Murshidabad in 1704 AD after his newly acquired title.
Uttar Dinajpur District
Uttar Dinajpur District or North Dinajpur district is a district of the Indian state of West Bengal. The division of the erstwhile West Dinajpur district created North Dinajpur district on 1st April 1992. It comprises of two subdivisions: Raiganj and Islampur.
Dakshin Dinajpur District
Dakshin Dinajpur District or South Dinajpur District is a district of the Indian state of West Bengal. The division of the erstwhile West Dinajpur district created Dakshin Dinajpur District on 1st April 1992. It comprises two subdivisions namely, Balurghat and Gangarampur.
