Rupnagar District
Rupnagar district is one of the twenty two districts in the state of Punjab in North-West Republic of India. The town of Rupnagar (formerly known as Rupar or Ropar) is said to have been founded by a Raja called Rokeshar, who ruled during the 11th century and named it after his son Rup Sen. Rupnagar district is also the site of an ancient town of the Indus Valley Civilization. The major cities in Ropar District are Morinda, Nangal, Kurali and Anandpur Sahib. Morinda is also known as Baghawala or the "The City of Gardens". Morinda is located at Chandigarh-Ludhiana Highway.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district which is also known as SAS Nagar district and Ajitgarh district is one of the twenty two districts of Punjab. It was formed in April 2006 and is 18th district of Punjab, created next to Pathankot district. This district was carved out of areas falling in Ropar and Patiala District. Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district is named after the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh, Sahibzada Ajit Singh which means "House of Sahibzada Ajit Singh".
Fatehgarh Sahib District
Fatehgarh Sahib district is one of the twenty-two districts of the state of Punjab in North-West India, with its headquarters in the city of Fatehgarh Sahib. Fatehgarh Sahib district came into existence on 13th April 1992, Baisakhi Day and derives its name from Sahibzada. The history of Fatehgarh Sahib district says that Fateh Singh was the youngest son of 10th Guru Gobind Singh, who along with his brother was bricked-up alive on the orders of Suba Sirhind, Wazir Khan in 1704. It is now the site of the `Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib`.
Patiala District
Patiala district is one of the twenty two districts in the state of Punjab in North-West India. Patiala District lies between 29 degree 49 minutes and 30 degree and 47 minutes north latitude, 75 degree 58 minutes and 76 degree and 54 minutes east longitude, in the southeast part of the state. Patiala district was earlier the royal area of Punjab kings during the rule of British East India Company and later the British Government in India. This royal region is surrounded by Fatehgarh Sahib District, Rupnagar District and Mohali District to the north, Fatehgarh Sahib District and Sangrur district to the west, Ambala, Panchkula in Panchkula District, Haryana to the North East and Kurukshetra district of neighboring Haryana state to the east, and Kaithal district of Haryana to the south west.
