Bhoomika Chawla, Bollywood ActressThe very talented and extremely gorgeous Bollywood actress Bhoomika Chawla was born in a Punjabi family in New Delhi on 21st August, 1978 and was named Rachna. She completed her schooling from Tamil Nadu. In 1997 she moved on to Mumbai for a career which began with Ad films and music videos. She began her film career by acting in Telugu Films. She got married to the proficient Yoga teacher Bharat Thakur on 21 October 2007 at Devlali, Nashik District in a Gurdwara.

Bhoomika Chawla`s Film Career
Bhoomika began her career with the Zee TV serial Hip Hip Hurray. After stepping into the film industry in the south she subsequently got many offers to act in Telugu movies and also some Tamil movies. She debuted with the Telugu Movie Yuvakudu in 2000 with actor Sumanta. Subsequently she starred in Khushi in 2001 opposite Pawan Kalyan, Okkadu in 2003 with Mahesh Babuand and in Simhadri opposite Jr.NTR in the year 2003. She also acted in many Tamil films like Badri in 2001 with Vijay and in Roja Kootam in 2002.

Her movies were well received and critically acclaimed. She made her debut opposite Salman Khan in Tere Naam. This was her first ever break in Bollywood and this movie turned out to be one of the year`s greatest hit at the box office. Her performance was appreciated and she hence received many nominations in the Best Debut category. After Tere Naam she starred opposite Abhishek Bacchan in "Run" in 2004. She featured in many other movies like Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa (2004), again opposite Salman Khan, Silsilay (2005) and Dil Jo Bhi Kahey (2005) alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Family - Ties of Blood with Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan and Gandhi, My Father.

Bhoomika later returned to south and acted in movies like Naa Autograph (2004), Jai Chiranjeeva, Jillendru Oru Kadhal, Mayabazar, Anasuya. She has even acted in a bhojpuri film, Gangotri in 2006 which was a sequel of the movie Ganga and also in a Punjabi movie, Yaariyan in 2008 along with the notable actor Gurdas Maan.

Awards and Honours of Bhoomika Chawla
Bhoomics won her first Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress for the movie Khusi. Next she won the Nandi Award for Best Actress for Missamma. Bhoomika has won the Best Debut Award at the Zee Cine Awards for the movie Tere Naam. For the movie Naa Autograph the actress won the CineMAA Jury Award for Best Actress. She was bestowed with the Nandi Special Jury Award for the movie Sathyabhama and the Santosham Best Actress Award for Anasuya.

Bhoomika Chawla in a very short span with very few films has created a huge fan following in the south film industry as well as in Bollywood.
