Blade of the Warrior: Kshatriya is an Indian comics series, published and distributed in India and abroad by Liquid Comics, which was formerly known as Virgin Comics. The comics series is a part of the Shakti line of comics that focuses on the various Indian mythologies and represent them in a fictional and graphic form. The projects are spearheaded by Medical Doctor Deepak Chopra and critically acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. Other comics in this line up includes series like Devi, The Sadhu, Ramayan 3392 AD, Project Kalki, Deepak Chopra`s Buddha, India Authentic Series and others. The contemporary comics series of Blade of the Warrior: Kshatriya was created by writer Arjun Gaind and was illustrated by artist R. Manikandan. The plot revolves around an ancient Indian warrior; a Kshatriya prince has lost his kingdom to a demonic rival.
Content of Blade of the Warrior
The sword and sorcery epic is about a warrior Kshatriya who risks his own life and even his soul in an ultimate frantic attempt to thwart the plans of his evil demonic brother, as a horde of demonic creatures guard the entrance to the fortress of Dharma. Kshatriya himself is the final spark of resistance who stands up against the evil forces of darkness. He is forced to discover the strength fight his own brutish rage or become a victim to wretched devilish sorcery.
Kshatriya in actuality defines a class of Indian warriors. Before the establishment of the great civilizations in human history, during the period of myth, sorcery, magic and warriors, Gods walked the mortal earth in disguise. The leading character was born with the sole purpose to rise against unstoppable darkness. The childhood of Kshatriya was stolen from him. Now as an expert warrior the protagonist must oppose the evil demonic forces of the Shaitan or Devil, who has appeared in the appearance of his own brother. Blade of the Warrior: Kshatriya portrays the tale of an exiled prince whose kingdom was seized by his evil brother. He eventually embarks on a journey that will establish him as the greatest warrior through out the entire world.
Kshatriya embarks on a mission to annihilate his demonic brother and at the same time trying to control the rage of a tiger within him. He receives help from Princess Arya who has accumulated an army to fight with the demonic hordes of Mayadeva. The rest of the tale revolves around the prince`s revenge, retribution, valour and family feud situated in a mysterious eastern kingdom. Kshatriya the warrior is torn between honour and revenge and is compelled to survive with the power of his intellect and his mystic sword.
