It is a well planned and well maintained park edged by some of the most important government buildings on all the sides. Bharathi Park is surrounded by sea.

Location of Bharathi Park
Bharathi Park is situated in the central region of this old French colony. It is situated at a distance of 3.5 kilometres from Puducherry Bus Station.

History of Bharathi Park
Bharathi Park was once the place of the first French defence force and Fort Louis which were destroyed by the British. In 2006, the park was repaired and a number of new sections were included to make it more attractive.

Attractions of Bharathi Park
Graced with magnificent gardens, Bharathi Park serves as one of the supreme picnic spots in the town. Apart from the green area, the famous monument of Aayi Mandapam attracts a lot of visitors to this park. At one point, Aayi Mandap was the major water source for Puducherry town. Significant government buildings of Puducherry which enclose this park are the Lt. Governor`s Palace, Government Hospital, the Legislative Assembly, the Cercle de Pondichéry private club and Ashram Dining Room.
