Barkha Bisht is a popular actress of the small screen. After completing her studies she started working in a call centre as a voice trainer for four years. It was then that she took part in the All India Talent Hunt by Balaji and MTV and got selected. She made her television debut with the popular soap `Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi`. It is from here that her journey towards stardom initiated.
The dusky-beauty is not only known for her acting talents, but also for good anchoring.. She anchored a popular show called `Popkorn news` on Zoom TV, which deals with the life and lifestyle of Page 3 celebrities.
Barkha Bisht catapulted to fame with the character portrayal of Radha in `Pyaar Ke Do Naam Ek Raadha Ek Shyaam.` In the serial she paired opposite Indraneil Sengupta. She also got the scope of portraying a double role as the lead. The story is based on reincarnation. In the previous birth she was Shyama who was a simple village girl full of life. After she dies in the first birth she is reborn as Radha who is a middle class, family-oriented girl and is also a medical student.
Barkha Bisht has also appeared in minor roles in the Balaji soaps `Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka`, `Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi`, `Kasauti Zindagii Kay` and `Kavyanjali.` Barkha got her another major break in the Aruna Irani serial `Doli Saja Ke` in which she portrayed the character of Anupama. She has also participated in a reality show `Saas vs Bahu` in Sahara One channel. It was a dance reality show where the on screen Bahus competed with their on screen Saas. She played the central character in the serial `Sajan Ghar Jana Hai.` Barkha Bisht has also done an item number in the Prakash Jha`s movie `Rajneeti` and also in a Bengali movie `Dui Prithibi.`
On a personal note Barkha Bisht is married to another popular television actor Indraneil Sengupta with whom she has acted in few serials. The couple tied the knot on 2 March 2007 after a two-year long courtship.
