Bandli Wildlife Sanctuary

Bandli Wildlife Sanctuary, Himachal Pradesh was established in the year 1974 and is maintained by the local government of this Indian state. Beautiful vegetation cover is spread across this sanctuary and contains numerable wild creatures.

It is known for its thick forest outgrowths which serve as excellent natural habitats for the numerable wild animals which dwell in the great depths of this wildlife sanctuary. Such green belt imparts a sense of peaceful and serene natural ambience which embraces the large number of travellers who pay visit to this sanctuary. The sanctuary is present at a distance of about seven kilometres away the town of Sunder Nagar, which is close to Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. The Government of Himachal Pradesh is implementing stringent measures in order to improve the state of the wildlife sanctuary, thereby striking a balance with the regional ecosystems. Bandli Sanctuary was erected in the year 1974.

Bandli Wildlife Sanctuary contains a rich cover of forest belt which comprises Mixed Deciduous Forests, Himalayan Chir Pine Forests and Oak Forests.

Fauna of Bandli Wildlife Sanctuary
Bandli Wildlife Sanctuary possesses numerous wild creatures which wander freely about the length and breadth of this region. They are Indian Hare, Himalayan Black Bear, Barking Deer, Common Palm Civet, Rhesus Macaque, Ghoral, Chir Pheasant, Jungle Fowl and many others. However, only lucky visitors would encounter the beautiful Snow Leopard lurking in the sanctuary grounds.

The perfect time to make a trip to the sanctuary is the time between the months of May and October.
