Anjali Lavania is an Indian model, who has modelled for various Indian and international fashion designers. She has appeared in several prestigious magazines such as Marie Claire, Elle, Femina and Vogue to name a few. She made her acting debut in 2011 with the Telugu film Panjaa. The film bagged her CineMAA Award for Best New Confident Face.
Early Life of Anjali Lavania
Anjali Lavania was born on May 15th, 1985 in Mumbai in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Her father is from Nainital and her mother is from Kerala. Her father served the Indian Navy as a Naval Aviator, while her mother was also a model. Her mother had won several beauty pageants including Miss Cochin and Miss Goa. Lavania has done an acting course at the Joanne Baron, DW Brown studio.
Career of Anjali Lavania
It was Anjali"s mother who encouraged her to be a model. Under her guidance, Lavania started modelling for several designers and choreographers. She started off as a model for Roopam campaign and Sheetal Design Studio in Mumbai. Then she went on to work as a model for brands like Pantaloons, Mahindra Xylo, and Titan with Aamir Khan and Levis with Imran Khan. She has appeared in the Kingfisher calendar for two consecutive years from 2010 and 2011. She has also hosted the Making of the Kingfisher calendar in 2011. Then in 2012, she was seen in Manish Malhotra`s Fashion show with model turned actor Vidyut Jamwal which was showcased in Delhi Couture week.
Lavania has also worked for various international fashion designers and walked in various well known international fashion shows. She has modelled for Lotta Stensson, Ashaka Givens, Christopher Kane and Gary Harvey and walked the runway in New York and LA fashion weeks. Lavania is quite active in the Eco-Green movement as well. She has worked in the Los Angeles Times for the Eco nouveau show, during LA fashion week adorning the bridal, newspaper ensemble by British Designer Gary Harvey that was featured at the MOMA in NYC. She has appeared in magazines like Instyle, Marie Claire, Elle, GQ, Verve, M, Femina and Vogue.
Apart from modelling, Anjali Lavania has also tried her luck in acting. In the year 2011, she essayed the female lead in the Vishnuvardhan directed Telugu action-musical film Panjaa alongside Pawan Kalyan. Anjali has learnt the art of Chakra Healing and Kriya yoga and is currently an advanced level Chakra Healer. She is also a life coach known as The Ascension Healer and has helped people heal holistically, body, mind and soul.
