History of Anchetty Durgam Fort
Anchetty Durgam Fort was occupied by Hyder Ali, the Dalwai or de facto ruler of the kingdom of Mysore, during the 18th century. Later his son Tipu Sultan of Mysore ruled over the fortress. However, the structure was seized and occupied by the army of the British East India Company in July 1791.
