Anandabazar PatrikaAnandabazar Patrika is a leading Bengali daily newspaper circulated in West Bengal, Delhi, and Mumbai by Anandabazar Patrika Limited (ABP). The paper was founded in 1922 by Prafulla Chandra Sarkar. The Ananadabazar Group of Publications publishes several newspapers and periodicals, which include Anandamela, a children`s monthly magazine Unish Kuri, a fortnightly trendy teen magazine, Career, a monthly career-guide, Anandalok, a film magazine, Desh, a literary magazine, Boier Desh, another literary magazine, Sananda, a women`s magazine, The Telegraph, an English daily, Businessworld, a business magazine. The Sunday supplement of the paper is called Rabibasario and the Saturday supplement is called Patrika. Anandabazar Patrika also provides advertisements in the newspaper. In 2010, Time Inc. entered into a license agreement with ABP Group to publish Fortune India magazine. This magazine publishes the Fortune India 500 list every year.

History of Anandabazar Patrika
Tusharkanti Ghosh and his father Sisir Kumar Ghosh published a newspaper in 1876 in the small village of Magura in Jessore District (erstwhile district in British India, now in Bangladesh). They named the newspaper after Tusharkanti"s grandmother"s sister Anandomayee. The newspaper was not that much popular and soon was closed. In 1886, Ghosh published another newspaper named Amrita Bazar Patrika (it was named after Tusharkanti"s grandmother Amritamoyee).

Later in 1922 the newspaper Anandabazar Patrika was relaunched by its proprietor Suresh Chandra Majumdar and editor Prafulla Kumar Sarkar. It was first printed on 13th March 1922 under their ownership and was against British rule. It was initially published as a four-page evening daily. The main feature of this newspaper was the first colour printing. In the year 2001, Anandabazar Patrika launched its internet edition.
