Chandogya Upanishad is the part of Chandogya Brahaman and is associated with Sama Veda. It is ranked ninth in the Muktika canon of hundred and eight Upanishadas. The Chandogya Upanishad depicts the importance and greatness of universal holy syllable `Om Mantra` and the significance of vital life force or `Prana`. The 8th Khanda of Second Chapter of Chandogya Upanishad states about the meditation on the sevenfold Saman as speech. According to it one must meditate on the Saman in the speech. When the syllable Hum is in the speech, it is the syllable Him. In the same way in the Prastava Pra exists and in the Adi A exists. Ud exists in the Udgitha, Pra in the Pratihara, Upa in the Upadrava and Ni the Nidhana. One who knows this and meditates on it becomes rich in food and for him speech yields milk.
