Chanshal Pass is situated above Chanshal peak, which is the highest peak of Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh measuring 4520 meters of height. The pass, also called Chanshal Valley, connects Dodra Kawar valley and Rohru. Chanshal Pass, being a popular tourist spot, offers a great scenic beauty of the Himalayas. Trekking to the top of the hills through Chanshal Pass is one of the popular activities of this place done by the tourists. Saru Tal Lake is located on the top of one of the hills near Chanshal valley.
Visiting Information to Chanshal Pass
Chanshal Pass remains open from May to October and is covered with snow for the rest of the year. It is located at a distance of 180 km from Shimla; Shimla Airport and Shimla Railway Station are the nearest mediums to reach Shimla.
