7th Khanda of Chapter Three

7th Khanda of Chapter Three of Chandogya Upanishad states about the meditation on the Rudras with Lord Indra on their head.

Chandogya Upanishad is one of the oldest Upanishads written on the Vedic Brahmana period about ninth to eighth century B.C. Chandogya Upanishad is associated with Sama Veda. It is the part of Chandogya Brahaman that contains ten chapters. The 7th Khanda of Chapter Three of Chandogya Upanishad states about the meditation on the Rudras. The Rudras live on the second of these nectars with Lord Indra on their head. The Devas or the gods neither eat nor drink, they only gratify themselves by the sight of the nectar. They withdraw into that white colour and rise up from that colour. One who is aware of this and realises the nectar becomes one of the Rudras, with Lord Indra at their head. He becomes satisfied by merely looking at the nectar. He retires into that white colour and again rises up from that colour. He also obtains the complete dominion of the Rudras which extends from the rising of the sun in the east to its setting in the west. As long as he likes the Rudras, he enjoys rulership and sovereignty.
