Mumbai City District
Mumbai City District is a district of Maharashtra in Konkan Division. As a city district, it has no headquarters or subdivisions. It, along with the Mumbai Suburban District, makes up the metropolis of Mumbai. The city area is called the "island city" or South Mumbai or Old Mumbai. It extends from Colaba in the south to Mahim and Sion in the north. The city has an area of 157 km. sq. and a population of 3,085,411.
Mumbai Suburban District
Mumbai Suburban District is a district of Maharashtra in Konkan Division. Its headquarters is in Bandra. It consists of three administrative subdivisions, namely Kurla, Andheri and Borivali. The district along with Mumbai City district and other suburban communities make up the metropolis of Mumbai on Salsette Island. The district occupies an area of 446 square kilometers.
Raigad District
Raigad District is a district in the state of Maharashtra. It was formerly called the Kolaba district, the district was renamed after Raigad, the fort that was the former capital of the Maratha Emperor Shivaji Maharaj, and is located in the interior regions of the district, in dense forests on a west-facing spur of the Western Ghats Mountain Range in India of Sahyadri range.
Ratnagiri District
Ratnagiri district is one of the 36 districts of Maharashtra. Ratnagiri is the district headquarters. The district is 11.33% urban. The district is bounded by the Arabian Sea to the west, Sindhudurg district to the south, Raigad district to the north and Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur districts to the east. This district is part of Konkan division.
Sindhudurg District
Sindhudurg District is an administrative district in the state of Maharashtra which was carved out of the erstwhile Ratnagiri District. The district headquarters are located at Oros.
Thane District
Thane District is a district in the Indian state of Maharashtra in Konkan Division. At the 2011 Population Census it was the most populated district in the nation, with 11,060,148 inhabitants; however, the district was split into two with the creation of a new Palghar district, leaving the reduced Thane district with a 2011 Census population of 8,070,032. The headquarters of the district is the city of Thane. Other major cities in the district are Navi Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivli, Mira-Bhayander, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar, Ambarnath, Badlapur, Murbad and Shahapur. This is the third-most industrialized district in Maharashtra.
Palghar District
Palghar District is a district in the state of Maharashtra in Konkan Division. On 1st August 2014, the Maharashtra State government announced the formation of the 36th district of Maharashtra, when a new Palghar District was carved out of the old Thane district; it comprised the talukas of Palghar, Vada, Vikramgad, Jawhar, Mokhada, Dahanu, Talasari and Vasai-Virar.
