Kakinada is well connected to the southern and western railway line. Kakinada holds three main railway stations which includes Kakinada town junction, Kakinada Port and Sarpavaram. Chennai to Howrah railway line is on the same route of Kakinada. Most of the fast train halt at Kakinada on this route. The direct trains are available from Kakinada till Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Tirupati, and Chennai. On weekly basis trains are also available directly till Shirdi and Bhavnagar. Some superior trains are also available throughout for Hyderabad and Ernakulum. National Highway number 214 connects Kakinada to Kathipudi and Ongole. Highways from few states connect Kakinada to Rajahmundry. The roads in Kakinada are quiet spacious and wide for free moving of transport.
