![]() Early Life of Gurmeet Choudhary He was born on 22nd February 1984 to a Bhumihar Brahmin family in Chandigarh. He was brought up in Jabalpur and Chennai. His father, Sitaram Chaudhary, is a retired subedar major from the Indian Army. His family is originally from Jairampur, Bihpur, Bhagalpur district, Bihar. He received his school education from Jabalpur. Career of Gurmeet Choudhary Gurmeet started his career with modelling. In his initial days, he worked in a South Indian television show titled "Maayavi" which was a huge hit down south. He was seen in a small role in the movie "Koi Aapsa", starring Aftab Shivdasani. He also tried his luck in a few music videos and few movies down south. He came into limelight in 2008 after enacting the role of Lord Ram in the television show Ramayana. Next, he was seen in the role of a business magnate Maan Singh Khurana in the serial Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi followed by another show Punar Vivah. ![]() After tasting success in television industry, he appeared in a small but significant role in the 2015 Indian supernatural horror film, Khamoshiyan.
