Barbing can be visited all through the year; however January to early March is the best time to see the frozen Changu Lake. The cool and breezy weather of Barbing is pleasant for beating the summer heat of the cities. The place is situated at a distance of 14 kilometres from Gangtok and tourists can hire private cabs from the city.
