Esha Gupta is an Indian film actress who primarily works for the Hindi film industry. In the year 2007 she was placed third in the Femina Miss India contest following which she contested in the Miss India International contest but could not earn any position. Esha Gupta has also been into modelling and has endorsed several brands including Kingfisher. Her acting skills in films have been quite appreciated. Esha Gupta has also received nominations for her performances in various film awards.
Early Life of Esha Gupta
Esha Gupta was born on 28th November 1985 in the capital of India, Delhi. Her father is a retired air-force officer and her mother is a housewife. Her sister's name is Neha. Before auditioning for Femina Miss India, Esha was studying Mass Communication from Manipal Institute of Communication, Manipal University in Karnataka. She had also received a law scholarship at Newcastle University. However she declined the offer to chase her dreams of pursuing a career in the Hindi film industry.
Career of Esha Gupta
Esha Gupta stepped in the entertainment world in 2007 through participating in Femina Miss India in which she won 3rd position. She also bagged the title of Miss Photogenic. Her subsequent participation in Miss India International could not fetch her any reward. In the year 2010 she appeared in the Kingfisher Calendar. In the year 2012 she signed a three film contract with Vishesh Films. Esha made her cinematic debut as an actress in 2012 with Kunal Deshmukh directed Jannat 2 in which she starred alongside Emraan Hashmi. Her charming screen presence and convincing portrayal in the movie was appreciated by the critics. The movie also earned success at the box office which further got Esha recognition in the celluloid. Subsequently she featured in the Vikram Bhatt's Bollywood flick Raaz 3D alongside Emraan Hashmi and Bipasha Basu.Her performance in the movie received mixed reviews from critics. Raaz 3D was declared as a blockbuster at the box office. Esha Gupta's third venture was not under the Vishesh Films banner. She featured in Chakravyuh opposite Arjun Rampal and Abhay Deol under the direction of Prakash Jha. Although the movie was a commercial failure, it earned positive reviews from the critics for Esha. In 2014 Esha Gupta was seen in the Sajid Khan's comedy flick Humshakals in which she featured alongside Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu, Riteish Deshmukh and Tamannaah. Esha also appeared in a cameo role in the movie Gori Tere Pyaar Mein. For her performances she received nominations at various esteemed award ceremonies like Filmfare and Stardust awards.
