Vikram Bhatt is a Bollywood director, screenwriter and producer who rose to fame with his directional venture Fareb. He is also known as the pioneer of stereoscopic 3D film in India.

Vikram Bhatt, Bollywood DirectorVikram Bhatt is an Indian film director who works for Hindi film industry. In addition to direction, he has also worked as a film producer and screenwriter. He is also the creative head of a firm named ASA Productions and Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. He started his career assisting renowned film directors and gradually set a strong footing amongst the leading film directors. A number of horror flicks of Bollywood earned great success under his direction. He is also the pioneer of stereoscopic 3D film in the country.

Early Life of Vikram Bhatt
Vikram Bhatt was born on 27th January 1969 to Pravin Bhatt, the well known cinematographer, screenwriter and director of Bollywood. His grandfather Vijay Bhatt was also an acclaimed director, producer and screenwriter and is considered as one of the pioneers of Indian cinema.

Career of Vikram Bhatt
Vikram Bhatt began his career at the age of 13 in the year 1982 along with the late director Mukul Anand in his first film Kanoon Kya Karega. He worked in the project for six and a half months. Bhatt worked with him for a few more films; however his last movie was the Bollywood classic Agneepath in which he worked as a chief assistant. Later he worked for two and a half years with director Shekhar Kapur. He also worked with famed director Mahesh Bhatt for two years for films including Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke and Junoon.

Vikram Bhatt, Bollywood Director He made his directional debut with the movie Jaanam under the production of Mukesh Bhatt. However his first four ventures could not earn him much success, failing at the box office. He marked his first success as a director with the film Fareb. This was followed by a series of successful films like Awara Paagal Deewana, Raaz, Kasoor and Ghulam. His subsequent phase was once again marked by a few flops except the semi-biopic Ankahee and Deewane Huye Paagal. Vikram Bhatt once again attained success with his 2008 horror flick 1920 followed by Shaapit in 2010.

Vikram Bhatt is credited with the first stereoscopic 3D film of India, Haunted which released in the year 2011 and was recorded as the highest grossing Hindi horror film of all time. His second 3D venture Raaz 3 in 2012 also went on to become a hit. The film featured Bipasha Basu in the central role. Later he wrote the script for another Hindi horror flick 1920: Evil Returns which was directed by debutant Bhushan Patel marking another hit. Afterwards Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar`s T-Series signed a deal of producing 5 films of horror, thriller and sci-fi genre. Since February 2014 he is also hosting a television show Ishq Kills which is aired on Star Plus and is based on real life romances.
