Maramfest Music FestivalMaramfest is a prominent music and cultural festival held every year in Manipur. Celebrated in the month of December or January, the event was founded by John Hingkung who is also the founder of Sevendiary.com. Presently Sevendiary.com is the organizer of this vibrant festival. The event includes lively performances by different artists and invites participants from far off regions. In the year 2012, two British Metal bands namely Xerath and Bloodshot Dawn also charmed the festival with their sparkling performances.

Inception of Maramfest
The year 2009 marks the beginning of this grand event and the first Maramfest was organized on 16th January of the same year at Helipad Ground, Maram Centre. The shows were arranged in a pattern of progressive rock, country and hard rock. Thousands of music lovers gathered at the festival to cherish the performances of various artists. Well known local artists such as Scarf, Psiikouna, Jiangam, Young Maraluiths and Over the Bridge enthralled the show with their mesmerizing performances.

2012 Maramfest
After its inception, Maramfest encountered a pause of two years after which it organized its second edition in the year 2012. British bands, Bloodshot Dawn and Xerath formed the major points of attraction of the event along with the band from Imphal named Recycle. The 2nd edition of Maramfest was held at Mini Stadium, Senapati in Manipur.

Official Compilation Albums
Coinciding with the start of the festival an official Maramfest compilation CD is released annually which features songs performed by various artists performing in the event that year. It also includes the best songs released by Maram artistes in the same year.
