Kunal Kapoor, the famous Bollywood actor has carved out a special niche for himself in the hearts of his fans. This extremely talented actor was born on 18th October 1975. He studied in the stream of science till 12th standard from Mithibai College and then shifted to commerce in the course of his graduation. After completing his graduation he did a course in export management.
Career of Kunal Kapoor
Kunal's journey with cinema began as an assistant director to Rakesh Mehra in the movie Aks starring the Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. The critically acclaimed actor thereafter got himself associated with the theatre group of Naseeruddin Shah and received training under Motley. Soon after this the acting bug bit him and he found himself moving on with his acting career. He made a most unconventional debut with the film Meenaxi directed by M. F. Hussain. But the turning point in his career was marked with the film Rang De Basanti. Not only his character of Aslam in this film was a huge hit but it had also received a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award nomination. His other film Hattrick did not create waves in the box office but was labelled as a moderate hit. His next two movies Laaga Chunari Mein Daag with Rani Mukherjee, Konkona Sen and Abhishek Bachchan and Aaja Nachle with Madhuri Dixit and Konkona Sen could make an impact at the box office. He was also seen in the movie Welcome to Sajjanpur. He also worked for Rahul Dholakia's Lamhaa for which he received many accolades. The actor has even lent his voice in Mahayoddha Rama for the character of Rama.
Kunal began writing for the weekly columns for HT City, the lifestyle supplement of the Hindustan Times. He has endorsed popular brands like Thums up, Indian terrain, Ray Ban and Mahindra Logan. He is even a part of the NGO Save the Children.
Achievements of Kunal Kapoor
In 2006 Kunal was awarded the Star's Sabsey Favourite Naya Hero Award and in 2007 he received the Stardust Breakthrough Performance, Male Award.
