K P Thomas an ex-athlete, mentor and coach is lovingly called Thomas Master .K P Thomas trains one hundred and seventy young athletes all for free in his school in Koruthode in Kerala . He has been involved with training and coaching ever since be bid adieu to professional athleticism. His career has moved on from sportsman to being a coach. He has been a source of inspiration for many young athletes and his guidance has been of immense help for upcoming talents.
Olympian Anju Bobby George, sprinter Jincy Philips, and 800m double Asian Games gold medallist Shiny Wilson are some of the athletes who have received training under K P Thomas. As far as the training is concerned K P Thomas uses his own pension fund to train the athletes. He is a jovial character and knows to live life to the fullest. He is pretty helpful to all athletes and works with them to ensure proper facility and future. Thomas makes it easy for those poor students for who sports are the route to get good jobs.
