According to the 2001 census ,Chaumuhan had a population of about 54% of the population comprising male and females 46% of the population. Chaumuhan has an average literacy rate of 47%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 59% and female literacy of 32%. 20% of the population is under 6 years of age.
