Entrance Tests for Management
Some of the entrance examination tests are ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admission), ICET (Integrated Common Entrance Test), MAT (Management Aptitude Test), NAT (National Aptitude Test), OPENMAT (Open Management Aptitude Test) of Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU), RMAT (Rajasthan Management Admission Test), SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) for Symbiosis Undergraduate Institutes of SIEC Deemed University, WAT (Written Admission Test) of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) and numerable other exams.
AIMS Test for Management Admission (ATMA)
The pattern of AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) is almost similar to that of Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). The test paper of ATMA basically consists of objective type questions with multiple-choice answers. AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) is defined as a platform offered by Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) for entering the professional management degree courses. This entrance test is approved by the AICTE that is All India Council for Technical Education and also by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
Rajasthan Management Admission Test (RMAT)
Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) is a management entrance examination that is organized by the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. This entrance test is conducted for taking admission into the professional two-year MBA degree programmes offered by the state Management Institutions of the state of Rajasthan. Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) is open to all those candidates only who are of Rajasthan domicile.
Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET)
The pattern of Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is described as an aptitude test. The candidates who clear the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) are eligible for applying to the various undergraduate programmes.
Open Management Aptitude Test (OPENMAT)
Open Management Admission Test (OPENMAT) is organized by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. OPENMAT or Open Management Admission Test is generally conducted twice a year that is in the month of February and secondly in the month of August. The IGNOU MBA programmes are conducted through the study centres of IGNOU.
National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT)
National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is the entrance examination organized by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). It is conducted for admissions to the various MBA degree programmes of NMIMS. The National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) question pattern usually comprises a total 200 questions, each of them carrying 1 mark. The total time allotted for this examination is 2 and half hours.
Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET)
This entrance test basically measures the capability of the candidates whether they are eligible to the various management programmes like Master of Business Administration (MBA) and other subjects. Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) is organized by any one of the Universities in Andhra Pradesh on behalf of the state education council that is Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).
Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT)
Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT) is a common aptitude or entrance examination that is organized by the Karnataka Private Postgraduate Colleges' Association (KPPGCA). This entrance test is conducted for getting admissions into the various career oriented post graduate MBA (Masters of Business Administration).
Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national level entrance test conducted by the All India Management Aptitude Testing Service (AIMATS), New Delhi. This test is being conducted on a national basis since the year 1988. This national level entrance test has got an approval from the Government of India. The results of MAT are accepted by AICTE-approved Management Institutes and All India Management Association - Centre for Management Education (AIMA-CME). MAT is conducted in various locations of the country and besides that it is also organized at various overseas locations.
Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP)
Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is organized under the guidance of SIEC Deemed University. A graduate degree is the minimum eligibility criterion for appearing into the Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test. A minimum of 50% marks at the graduation level is mandatory.
Common Admission Test (CAT)
Common Admission Test or CAT is arranged by the Indian Institutes of Management for admission to the management courses of IIMs, Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITS), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) and many other academic institutes. CAT is a computer based test since the year 2009. CAT scores are generally of two types: ray and scaled.
Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration Test (CEMAT)
Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration Test (CEMAT) is an entrance test examination organized by Indira Gandhi National Open University. This examination is conducted for getting admission to the Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration (CEMBA) and also the Commonwealth Executive Master of Public Administration (CEMPA) courses.
Various colleges and universities in the country are affiliated to a common entrance exam on national level, or conduct their individual aptitude examinations while selecting candidates. The other entrance test examinations for MBA on national levels are CAT, XAT, JMET, MH-CET, CMAT while some tests of certain colleges which offer courses in MBA are IBSAT (ICFAI Business Schools), IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade), IRMA (Institute of Rural Management), MICA (Mudra Institute of Communications) and several other examinations.
