National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is the entrance examination organized by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). It is conducted for admissions to the various MBA degree programmes of NMIMS. This entrance test is usually conducted in the month of December every year. It is conducted throughout the country in almost 20 centres. Candidates who are interested in taking admissions to the several specialized MBA courses offered by the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) need to appear for the National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT). The scores obtained in the written test followed by group discussion and personal interview determine the capability of a student. It is through this test the capability of a student is measured whether he/she is capable of pursuing the professional management degree programmes. NMIMS University is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Application Forms
Aspirants can obtain the prospectus and the application form of National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) from NMIMS, Mumbai. Candidates need to pay the requisite amount either in cash or by a bank demand draft. The candidates need to submit the completed application form along with a self addressed cloth envelope.

Eligibility Criteria for National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT)
Candidates interested in appearing for National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) need to have acquired a 10+2+3 degree certificate in any stream of study or discipline from any recognized university approved by the UGC. A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is essential at the bachelor`s degree level. Preference is given to work experience.

Pattern of Examination
The National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) question pattern usually comprises a total 200 questions, each of them carrying 1 mark. The total time allotted for this examination is 2 and half hours. The test also follows the system of negative marking. The paper has several sections and they are as follows -

• Language Skills (40 questions)

• Numerical Skills (40 questions)

• Data Analysis and Sufficiency (40 questions)

• Intelligence and Logical reasoning (40 questions)

• Indian and Logical Environment (40 questions)

Syllabus
Students need to prepare for several sections like English, reasoning, quantitative and general awareness.

Selection Process
Those students are admitted to the professional MBA programmes who meet the required standards of the two-stage selection process. The candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the written test. The short listed need to appear for Group Discussion, Computer based test or Presentation followed by a Personal Interview. The candidates who clear both the stages are selected for admissions to the post graduate MBA programmes.
