David Dhawan is a noted director in Hindi comic cinema, with films like "Haseena Maan Jayegi", "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan", "Judwaa", "Partner" and "Main Tera Hero".

Directors like Nirmal Dey who directed `Sare Chuattar`, Prafulla Chakraborty who directed `Jamalaye Jibanta Manush`, Agradoot who made the famous comedy film `Chhadmabeshi` and Manu Sen who received accolades for his directorial `Bhrantibilas`, have made significant contribution to the comedy genre in Bengali Cinema.

Telugu comedy films have significantly made up the successful commercial genre in Telugu Cinema. Directors like Harish Shankar who made the movie `Gabbar Singh`, Mohan Krishna Indraganti who directed `Ashta Chamma`, Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao who made `Sudigadu` and G. Nageshwara Reddy who directed `Denikaina Ready` are a few amongst the numerous noted comedy film directors of Telugu films.

Marathi Directors of Comic Cinema
Ankush Chaudhari who directed `No Entry Pudhe Dhoka Aahey` and Avadhoot Gupte who made `Jai Maharashtra Dhaba Bhatinda` among others are counted the influential comedy film directors in Marathi cinema.
