Career of Abhishek Dutta
Abhishek Dutta is a science graduate, who once dreamt of being a part and parcel of IIT however it was fashion firmament calling him to join the glittering world of Vanity Fair. Once he discovered his aptitude at the design college, there was no looking back. He earned his posthumous fashion technology degree from Wigan & Leigh College, Kolkata; Abhishek has already encased accolades galore. As he went on to receive the creative design award at his graduation show Entr'acte99 Abhishek; he moved beyond success to gather award at the Smirnoff International Fashion Awards (SIFA) in 1999. He was given to opportunity to design clothes for the Femina Miss India 2001 and he made complete use of the occasion. Later, his work was launched internationally when he was invited as the only Indian designer to showcase at Bali fashion week in 2005 followed by Asia fashion week in 2006 and 2007 respectively. This designer has more treasures stored away in his than is shown. He has been also a part of the Wills India fashion week in 2006 both the seasons and Lakme India fashion week for all four seasons in 2006, 2007 & 2008. He has bagged the credibility in dressing up some of the stars like Raima Sen, Riya, Konkona, Vidya in Bollywood fraternity who has been his loyal admirers of his work.

Extraordinary silhouettes and style statements like trapeze cuts and draped jackets enamoured by unconventional materials like leather and crochet are just a few examples of the 32-year-old's smart, futuristic yet wearable designs.
The geometrical pieces associated with the puzzle are carried forward in his outfits that show the morphing of shapes, forms and dimensions in thread work textures, leather and fabric laser-cut designs and architectural panels for an androgynous look. The shade card concentrates on the monochromes, earthy browns, electric blue, shocking purple and canary yellow. His creations are futuristic.

His distinctive style is the fusion of ancient embroidery with futuristic cuts and thus a saree could have mingling of Kashyap crochet and leather working with handloom, natural fabrics and experimenting with the asymmetrical cuts. Class, style, and allure are his key contribution to the fashion domain. The fast emerging fashion circuit of India encloses as well as spreads its wings to space for his ever widening sojourn. His creations are contribution themselves and are a reflection, an extension of his own personality hardly restrained by the archetypal norms. His creative mind provides a true bent of spirit that has its repercussions in the works as well. The designer has more treasures stored away in his cache and there is no denial to this fact considering his collections that were showcased internationally in Jakarta, Malaysia, and Singapore. He also has been a part of Wills India Fashion Week in 2006, and Lakme India.
