Pargad Fort is located towards the south of Kolhapur in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The geographical coordinate of the site is latitude 15.81649°N 74.04562°E. It is situated at a distance of almost 28 km from Chandgad. There is a bronze statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj of the Maratha Empire in the premise of the fort. The Bhagawati Bhawani temple is also located in the vicinity.
Pargad Fort has been developed as a popular trekking and tourist destination. It is presently under the ownership of Government of India and is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
